Now i want to walk you through
00:00
some settings which exist on almost all
00:01
entities and pages on Faircamp site for
00:04
instance the visibility setting. If we go
00:07
to an album, to the multitrack settings and
00:09
the visibility section we can here control a
00:12
setting that tells Faircamp whether this
00:15
multitrack should be "Featured", which means openly
00:19
accessible and also in the browse/search
00:22
menu on the top-right, "Public" which is
00:24
openly accessible but not in the search
00:27
menu, "Unlisted" which means you have to
00:29
directly share the link to a person that should
00:31
be able to discover this thing, or
00:35
"Offline" which means it's never included in
00:37
the generated site at all so you
00:39
can basically archive it, edit it in the
00:40
background and maybe put it online again
00:43
whenever you want to. So that's one
00:45
important setting and you can also find
00:46
that here for artists under artists settings,
00:48
visibility or for instance for catalog also
00:52
under catalog settings, visibility. Always the
00:55
same setting. Another setting that is
00:58
super important is synopsis and more. Synopsis is
01:00
basically a short text, we'll just put
01:03
"short text" in here and the "More text"
01:06
is a long text.
01:10
And these two fields are also available
01:12
on most entities. Let's maybe first
01:15
preview the site so you can see where
01:18
it is. So here the synopsis shows
01:20
up directly in the header section and
01:22
is limited to, I think it's
01:24
256 characters so just
01:26
a short inline text and here on
01:28
the other hand this could be
01:30
very long and there you can put any
01:32
kind of information you want, for
01:34
the catalog, for the album, for the
01:37
track, whichever object it is that you
01:39
are editing.
01:41
Okay and there is one more specific thing
01:43
that is important ah with the more
01:45
text which applies for tracks so if
01:47
for instance I have a track
01:52
here the first track in this album
01:54
and I supply a more text that is lyrics,
01:57
so for instance the lyrics of this
02:00
song are
02:01
"Roses are red,
02:04
violets are blue", I can save that
02:06
and I can also say that the
02:09
label for this more-text is not
02:11
"More", which is the default but instead
02:13
it is
02:16
"Lyrics"
02:17
And now if I build and preview
02:19
the site what we will see is that
02:21
on Alice's album the first song has
02:24
a button that says "Lyrics" and it
02:28
takes you straight to the track page
02:30
to the lyrics. In this case there
02:33
wasn't much scrolling to do but it normally
02:35
scrolls you to this
02:37
section down. Alright and as you can
02:39
see with this you can have additional
02:42
information for each track and give it
02:44
a different label depending on what you
02:46
put in there: Liner notes, lyrics, you
02:47
name it.
02:50
Okay and for one last important general
02:51
setting we have a look at links. As
02:54
you can see here for this track
02:57
we can specify links or and a link is
02:59
basically just any URL and possibly with
03:01
a label and for instance let's specify a
03:04
link on this album
03:08
Let's link to the ah
03:11
example.com site.
03:15
Save that.
03:17
Preview the site, and now on Alice's album
03:19
we can see that we have a
03:23
link to example.com under the
03:24
links and you can put any number
03:26
of links here and this also again
03:28
applies to all types so you also
03:31
have links for artists, you have links
03:32
for catalogs and, and this is a special
03:35
case, you also, since Faircamp 2,
03:38
you have links for the site
03:40
as well which you find of course
03:41
under the site settings and if I
03:43
put a link here so let's use
03:45
example.com again and if we build
03:49
the site
03:52
we find this link in the footer
03:53
section, so this allows you to basically
03:56
put in global links like the imprint
03:58
or contact information or link to your
04:01
social media channel or whatever you like
04:04
Okay and that concludes a little walk-through
04:07
through some general settings.
04:09
Thank you again for watching.
