Setting up downloads

In Faircamp there are many ways to set up downloads. 00:00
For instance: 00:03
If you want to allow your listeners to download 00:04
an album, let's say this one, as 00:06
a .zip file, where each track is 00:08
included as an MP3 file 00:10
you can go to that album, then 00:12
go to the multitrack settings, downloads and 00:14
here you can enable the download format 00:18
that you like, so for instance here I could 00:20
select MP3 as a download format. 00:22
This however is different from allowing people 00:26
to download tracks individually. To allow individual 00:29
track downloads you can for instance go 00:32
to the first song here and then 00:34
to the track settings, downloads and then 00:37
configure a download format here. Again this 00:39
could be just MP3. 00:42
However you can also configure track downloads 00:45
for each individual track at the album 00:49
level. For this you can go to 00:52
the album and then to the track 00:54
settings for that album and then again 00:55
to the downloads section and then you 00:58
can enable MP3 downloads for 00:59
instance for all tracks of this album. 01:02
And now if you go to one 01:05
of these tracks, let's say the first one 01:07
and to the track settings and downloads you 01:09
can see that the download format 01:11
MP3 has been inherited from the 01:13
multitrack container in which the track is 01:15
contained. 01:18
And this mechanism also works at higher 01:19
levels, so you can for instance also 01:22
do this at the site level. In 01:24
the site you can go to the 01:26
multitrack settings, downloads and here for instance 01:28
configure a download format that will then 01:32
apply to all multitracks, so all albums 01:34
in this case that are in 01:38
this site. Likewise you can also go 01:39
to the site and to the track 01:43
settings, downloads, set a download format here 01:44
and this will apply then to all 01:49
tracks in all albums or multitracks 01:51
or also to all standalone tracks that 01:54
are contained anywhere in the site. 01:57
So this gives you a real flexible 02:00
construction kit to quickly set up settings 02:02
across the whole site. 02:04
Okay, and last but not least let's 02:07
go through a few settings that are 02:09
available in general for downloads so first 02:11
of all downloads by default are accessible 02:15
free so all you need to enable 02:18
them is basically set a download format, 02:21
but you can of course also override 02:23
that and then you can have settings 02:24
like 02:26
specifying external download links or having a 02:27
pay curtain where you ask people to voluntarily 02:31
pay for the downloads or you can also 02:34
specify access codes here which are then 02:36
available like for each of these settings 02:40
basically you have the settings that pertain 02:42
to that on this same page. 02:45
Okay and that would be a quick 02:48
introduction to the download settings, thank you 02:50
for watching. 02:53
